Regardless of the project we’ve discovered that certain steps in the work process remain constant. These steps are:

• Knowledge Transfer to Cogent
• Design
• Development
• Testing and Debugging
• Launch
• Knowledge Transfer to the Client
• Maintenance

A defined process functions as a useful framework for both client and contractor project teams, acts as a road map and provides a good starting point for focused discussions.

A road map, however, is not a strict itinerary and, although these steps do occur in sequence, there is always overlap and interaction between them. Mutual knowledge transfer between the client and Cogent is an ongoing interactive process, for example.
