History

February 2013: Cogent completes phase I work on the Community Asset mapping tool (http://www.nyskwic.org/map/kwicmap.cfm) for the NYS Kids Well-being Indicator Clearinghouse (KWIC). This tool provides the ability to map the full range of KWIC data, geographic areas and points of interest for an inā€depth view of counties and communities across the state.

November 2012: Cogent delivers an iPad app to be used as an electronic catalog for the Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site in Newburgh, NY. This iPad app interfaces with a database to provide a wealth of information about each object in the museum including detail images, curatorial information, related object references, and much more. In addition to the iPad app, Cogent worked with the museum curators to procure the necessary hardware and to set up the entire network so that the data used for the app is easily maintained.

July 2012: Cogent commences work with NYS Empire State Development to re-design the NYS Contractor Reporter web site. This project will expand the functionality of the current web site. The web site will be used as the centralized procurement notification system for the State of New York.

December 2010: Cogent completes web site re-design of The Linda: WAMC's Performing Arts Center of the Capital Region (www.wamcarts.org). This re-design improves the site navigation and content and also improves the site administration by storing all of the events information in a database.

November 2010: Cogent completes re-design of the New York State Kids' Well-being Indicators Clearinghouse (KWIC) web site (www.nyskwic.org). This re-design takes advantage of the latest web technologies to enhance and simplify the user experience.

July 2009: Cogent completes web site (www.womeninscience.org) re-design for WAMC Northeast Public Radio '"Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics ON THE AIR!'

February 2009: Cogent Delivers a computer-based tool to the NYS Department of Transportation to aid drainage maintenance treatment decision-making.

September 2008: Cogent Delivers a DVD called "HEAR ME! HEAR ME! HEAR ME! Voices of Youth in Foster Care Regarding Their Court Proceedings" to The Permanent Judicial Commission on Justice for Children. This DVD use the voices and images of foster children to make a compelling argument to involve them in the judicial process that influences their lives. A web-based version was also delivered.

August 2006: 'Opportunities for People Through Services' Video and DVD completed for OMRDD's Office of Public Affairs and premiered at the College of St Rose.

October 2005: NYS Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities launches the second of three online learning courses developed by Cogent.

March 2005: Columbia-Green Community College web site (www.sunycgcc.edu), programmed by Cogent, wins gold medal award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations.

September 2004: KWIC web site awarded New York State’s “Best of the Web Award”.

March 2003: Cogent becomes the webmaster for The New York State Forum for Information Resource Management (www.nysforum.org).

June 2002: Cogent awarded New York State Kids Well-being Indicator Clearinghouse web site.

June 2001: Cogent delivers an Online Grant Preparation Tool (www.grant-quest.com) to JPS Solutions, LLC. This web site provides JPS Solutions with a tool to efficiently complete annual charter school applications for their clients.

April 2001: Cogent qualifies for New York State OGS Backdrop Contract.

March 2001: Cogent moves to historic downtown Troy, New York. Click here for more about Troy.

March 2000: eGrants transactional web site (www.egrants.net) completed. Cogent continues to work with Egrants for site improvements.

January 2000: Cogent is Incorporated.

December 1999: Cogent completes its first project. A CD-ROM Infomercial for Bosley Medical Group.

June 1998: Cogent Technologies founded.
